Montreal South Shore : Vegan Food Guide
We all know that vegan restaurants are well-established in Montreal, but they're harder to come by in the suburbs. Still, there are some great vegan options on the South Shore. Here’s a list of the ones I know!
Pêché matinal
Very popular breakfast restaurant (arrive early) offering one, but very good, vegan option on the menu: the Pain Moyen-Orient.
*Located in Longueuil
Sesame
Asian-style restaurant with a great evening atmosphere! A must-try: their tofu is perfectly grilled.
*Multiple locations, including Saint-Bruno and Boucherville
Ramen Isshin
This ramen chain prides itself on offering a wide variety of ramen options, including several vegetarian choices. I had the vegetarian miso ramen with kale noodles (which are vegan and gluten-free), along with a korokke appetizer. It was seriously delicious!
*Multiple locations, including Longueuil and Brossard
Zen Asia
Several veggie roll options and tofu stir-fries.
*Located in Saint-Lambert
El Gordo
Mexican restaurant with several vegan options.
*2 locations: Saint-Lambert & Montreal
Colonie Thai
Their padthais are excellent, but their other tofu dishes can be disappointing due to the very small size and amount of tofu.
*Located in Saint-Lambert
Moghel Tandoori
BYOB Indian restaurant with a vegetarian section that includes several vegan dishes. Absolutely delicious! My favorites are the Tarka Dhal, Chana Masala, Aloo Bangan, Mushroom Bhaji, and Aloo Ghobi.
*2 locations: Saint-Lambert & Longueuil
Madame Thai
Thai restaurant with tofu stir-fry options.
*Located in Longueuil
Escondite
Mexican restaurant with several vegan options.
*Multiple locations, including Solar Uniquartier in Brossard and Montreal
Siam
They make the best tofu, period. It’s crispy on the outside, silky on the inside, delicious! They offer a variety of stir-fries featuring this tofu and have a large vegan section. Siam is my go-to spot at Dix30!
*Multiple locations, including Dix30 in Brossard
Bollywood
Excellent Indian restaurant in Brossard.
*Located in Brossard
Boustan
My go-to for Lebanese pita! Their vegan chicken-style pita is incredible and a hit even with meat lovers.
*Multiple locations, including Chambly & Brossard
Pizza Pizza
Craving vegan pepperoni and cheese pizza with melty cheese? Pizza Pizza hits the spot. I absolutely love it!
*Multiple locations across Quebec
